Position Summary:
As a Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting internal Sales Partner(s) in identifying customer requirements and positioning appropriate products from your assigned product specialization(s) that help address our customer’s needs. The Sales Engineer is the technical lead in support of the customer engagement and provides internal and customer-facing support throughout the sales engagement.
This is a hybrid work position, based out of our Tampa, FL headquarters, with the expectation of two to three days per week in office.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide technical expertise on your assigned product specialization(s) to internal sales partner(s) and Imperium Data customers.
- Ability to perform proper discovery in consultative fashion to provide most value in every customer interaction and product positioned.
- Develop and finalize solution architecture/design with detailed line-item configurations and/or bill-of-materials (BOMs), for solutions within your assigned product specialization(s).
- Assist in the creation of bill-of-materials (BOMs) and answering of technical product questions, outside your product specialization area.
- Develop and finalize solution proposal and/or presentation of recommended products to clearly articulate desired outcome, considerations taken, variations available, high-level pricing, timelines, and physical layout/results.
- Develop and communicate relevant/potential business outcomes via POC/POV, presentations, briefings, and demonstrations, for solutions within your assigned product specialization(s).
- Lead technical scoping/reviews with sales partners and customers for Statement of Work (SOW) generation, for solutions within your assigned product specialization(s).
- Assist sales partners with customer satisfaction issues surrounding deployment of a recommended solution in alignment with delivery team and/or vendor.
- Lead POC with rigorous drive toward defined success criteria.
- Support of post sales activities needing your involvement, such as internal/external kickoff meetings, lessons learned, etc.
- Complete training per development plan, acquire and maintain certifications in accordance with Imperium needs, both in and outside your specialization.
- Participation in team meetings specific to region and practices.

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIECE, SKILLS, & EDUCATION:
- 3+ years of experience in designing or implementing complex solutions, with products within your assigned product specialization(s).
- Basic account and sales management knowledge including familiarity with quota, GP, and rebate programs preferred.
- Exposure to professional services scopes of work. Experience writing preferred.
- Certifications in applicable technology/area of expertise preferred.
- Desire to achieve certification in applicable technology area is required.
- Must possess a consultative customer first philosophy.
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
- Strong attention to detail with the need to compete.
- A self-starter, with a curious mind driven to learn and grow.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
DESIRED:
- Basic Wi-Fi design principles, including understanding of predictive and onsite surveys.
- Cisco Catalyst and Meraki Wireless, including wireless lan controllers.
- Cisco Catalyst and Nexus routing and switching, including when Merkai managed.
- Familiarity with routing and routing protocols.
PREFERRED:
- Juniper MIST Wireless including MIST Edge.
- Juniper EX and QFX switching, including when MIST managed.
- Juniper SRX and SSR when utilized as MIST WAN Edge.
- Aruba Wireless including Gateways and Aruba Central.
- Aruba Switching.
- Fortinet FortiGate Firewalls.
